Hey gang, seeing as Adaptec are giving me the ol'unsupported treatment I thought I'd try my luck here. Basically, I have a Gen10 HP Microserver with an adaptec RAID 6805T controller, 4x 3TB disks in raid 10 config. It's been fine until last week when a power cut caused one of the disks to go a bit mental, eventually it died. Adaptec RAID 5405Z Firmware/BIOS Update Ver. 5.2.0 Build 18948. Adaptec Raid Controller

Windows device driver information for Adaptec RAID 5405

Adaptec RAID 5405 is considered to be more advanced than other controllers. Instead of the usual 4 lanes in other controllers, Adaptec RAID 5405 makes use of 8 lanes. This means that it is able to provide more bandwidth for high end applications. For the first time user, Adaptec RAID 5405 comes inclusive of a 256 MB DDR2 cache memory and a fan out cable. The cable helps the user directly attach four drives. Adaptec RAID 5405 is considered to be a new generation of the Adaptec Unified Serial controllers. These controllers help users improve the flexibility, performance and scalability for enterprise class applications which includes online transaction processing or OTPL, web and digital surveillance. Adaptec RAID 5405 comes fully equipped with some of the industry's leading dual core RAID on Chip, also referred to as ROC, the latest x8 PCI-Express connectivity and some 256 MB of DDR2 cache.

Adaptec Raid 5405z Drivers

Unlike other controllers, Adaptec RAID 5405 consists of 4 internal ports in the Unified serial controller. The importance of these is that they allow users to connect 256 SAT and/or SAS disk drives through the SAS expanders. Adaptec RAID 5405 also features the copy back hot spare and also the Adaptec RAID Code, commonly referred to as ARC with such RAID levels as 0, 1, 1E, 60 and JBOD. The fact that Adaptec RAID 5405 is inclusive of an Adaptec Storage Manager makes it possible for users to centrally manage all their Adapted RAID controllers. Another important factor of Adaptec RAID 5405 is that it integrates the broadest possible operating system support, open source Linux drivers, a battery backup option and the latest PCle connectivity. These integrated components have proven capability which ultimately helps users maximize the performance and flexibility of their applications. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for Windows and Adaptec RAID 5405 errors before installing any driver updates.
